I am a life-long New Yorker.
In my spare time ...
I'm into books, bands, poets, art, DJs, people, cooking (I read Jacques Pepin's La Technique by age 9), crate digging, film, ideas, and more. But not necessarily in that order. The Writing Revolution ā "From D to A" (April 2021)
The Writing Revolution trains teachers to teach students expository writing skills. This critical literacy component can help to close the academic achievement gap and prepare students for future achievements in life. Brittany Robinson, recently promoted to principal at Monroe City Schools district in Louisiana, learned The Writing Revolutionās Hochman Method as an elementary school teacher and realized demonstrable success in her classroom. We interviewed Principal Robinson while visiting TWRās New York City office. This video segment underscores the importance of school leadership embracing the Hochman Method to support lasting change. We hired producer Lori Knight to conduct the interview, and TWRās internal team completed post-production. I created the outro with Adobe AfterEffects.
The Writing Revolution ā "From D to A" (April 2021)
This short video captures the story of Monroe City Schools (MCS), a Northern Louisiana school district located within the greatest concentration of poverty among U.S. metropolitan areas, and the district's journey toward education equity. MCS has seen evidence of improved student work and education outcomes, and has credited The Writing Revolution for its contribution to the district's progress. I created the storyboard and then edited the video from captured Zoom call footage.
Digital Content for Web
Longer-form videos that are embedded within a program's home page, or short videos that introduce sections of a web page.
āTake a Standā Music Video for Purim Holiday
"Take a Stand" celebrates the Jewish holiday of Purim and Queen Vashti, an unsung heroine of the holiday who said "No" When asked to perform a humiliating act. I was the executive producer of the video project.
Social Media Content
Used for organic and paid promotional posts.
92Y Fitness Ad for 2019
I am the director and executive producer for this ad. The goal was to get an early start at building leads for the New Year fitness season.
LGBTQ Shabbat Dinner Ad
I animated elements from a Photoshop image I created to produce this video.
92Y Health: Outdoor workout with Trainer Raven Jelks
I shot and edited the video.
92Y Camps: 5 Things to Know About Charlotte Braham
The initial plan was to shoot a video of Charlotte, but she was terrified of the camera and it showed on-screen! She was more comfortable with still photos, so I captured a few shots and used Adobe After Effects to animate the graphic and text elements.
92Y Health: Street Workouts with Trainer Jeff Gutierrez
I shot and edited this video. I used a filter in post-production to provide a "gritty" look without appearing over-produced.
92Y Health: Why and How to Perform Kettlebell Snatches
I shot and edited this video. Shooting in slow motion highlights the complex movement involved with this exercise.
92Y Health: Two Things You Can Do During a Snowstorm
A fun way to let online audiences know that 92Y's gym was still open -- even though other businesses were closed that day.

92Y Health: Fitness Day, 2018
The sun provided beautiful lighting and Trainer Raven Jelks is a professional dancer, so the pressure was on me to deliver a good Insta shot š
92Y Camps: The Day Before ...
I visited 92Y's Rockland County campgrounds for a meeting and decided to shoot a few scenes as a way to create excitement around the start of summer camp, which was the next day. I performed light editing.
Experiential Marketing
Successful large-scale brand activations are guest experience projects that require the coordination of many moving parts. And the results are highly rewarding.
92Y Street Fest
92Y Street Fest is a 20-block outdoor party with 50,000 guests, more than a half-dozen Broadway performances, a global food tasting, immersive arts and health experiences, giveaways, an afternoon-long roster of musicians, and a prominent list of sponsors. I co-produced Street Fest for three years.
Events Campaign
Promoting series of events throughout the year is a normal marketing task at 92Y. In this instance, I promoted five Chanukah events for audiences of all ages, promoted through print, email and social media channels. I have image content for every event and marketing channel, but I think this small sample gives you a sense of the effort. All of the paid events sold out. I wrote the copy and managed all design, proof, production and media buy activities.
Creative Installations
92Y May Center is a five-floor, 44,000-square-foot facility with a large amount of wall space that was populated with cork billboards. The objective was to update the space aesthetic by replacing the billboards with LCD monitors and large decals. We designed the first wave of decals with copy that can be considered an abstraction of most gym membersā fitness journeys: āSTARTā, āBRING ITā, and āGOALSā. The copy also resonates with a personās workout for the day. Gym members experience the visual journey as they walk through the facility. The high level of customer satisfaction earned the marketing team permission to create additional installations. I wrote the copy and managed the design, proof and installation phases of the project.
